ARISE Intervention Services and Payment Agreement

There are two ways to pay for the ARISE Intervention service. The first is by paying for each session as it occurs, the second is to enter into a flat fee agreement. In either event, the services cover the same ground and continue until the individual has been in recovery for a period of 6 months. If you choose to continue with ARISE after reaching 6 months of recovery, you can pay hourly or choose the flat rate agreement in 6-monthly increments. We do not bill insurance for these services because insurance does not cover Intervention services. Should any member of the family choose to have therapy with us, the therapy expenses may be billed to your insurance company. Travel costs, when required, are billed separately and in addition. Please contact us to discuss fees.

Much of the ARISE Intervention service can be provided on the telephone or via email.

The Recovery Resource Center only commits to offering an ARISE Intervention when the First Caller or Concerned Other (CO) of the support system who contacts the Center agrees to participate in both phases 1 and 2.

A. Agreement to work with Recovery Resource Center to do an ARISE Intervention: Individual Session Payment.

We agree to work with each other to do an ARISE Intervention. The following are the terms of the agreement:

We agree to pay an hourly rate for the ARISE Intervention. A sliding fee scale is available based upon need. The Intervention work is divided into two phases, followed by an optional third phase:

  1. The first phase includes the preparatory work for the Intervention, the ARISE Intervention network session(s) and the necessary follow-up sessions to facilitate entry into treatment. The second phase covers the treatment placement, treatment coordination and aftercare services for up to 6 months from the time of entry into treatment. It does not cover the treatment itself, which may be provided by one of our ARISE Interventionists, or by another treatment service or program.

  2. The second phase services involve: the advising, screening and selection recommendations for inpatient and/or outpatient treatment; interface between the Intervention network and the treatment provider; coordination of aftercare; integration planning if the individual is returning home or to the community; advice on beginning to use self help meetings, and setting up a self help support network; addressing questions related to ongoing treatment and other functioning related issues; relapse prevention; and emergency meetings if relapse occurs. These functions are Recovery Management Services, essential in the first 6 months of recovery. Typically, these services in the second phase extend over a 6- month period following the individual's beginning treatment, because it is important to build in monitoring and accountability to ensure lasting recovery.
  3. If you choose to continue using Recovery Management Services beyond the 6- month period, sessions are charged at a similar hourly rate or you may choose to switch to a flat rate agreement.

B. The ARISE Intervention Flat Fee Agreement:

Payment for the first phase is due at the time the ARISE sessions start. In practical terms, this means after the First Call and prior to the First Meeting. In cases of serious recidivism and/or dual diagnosis, the services of 2 ARISE Interventionists may be required.

Payment for second phase is due when, and only when, the individual about whom the CO has contacted Recovery Resource Center enters treatment. Treatment is defined as starting any level of outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient care, or beginning to attend self-help meetings.

Typically, these services in the second phase extend over a 6-month period following the individual's beginning treatment, because it is important to build in monitoring and accountability to ensure lasting recovery.
  3. If you choose to continue using Recovery Management Services beyond the 6-month period, payment can be made with a flat fee similarly to the previous two phases, or you can choose to be charged at an hourly rate.
